WTF Joss??
Alright, so people here were having Facebook email me about not updating on here in a while (who knew you could do that??) so I decided to talk about the new(ish) Joss Whedon show, Dollhouse.

So, I finally got around to seeing the super secret 13th episode of Dollhouse.  The show, in general, is amazing, at least after the first half of the 6th episode or so.  The unaired 13th made-just-for-the-DVD-or-something-for-some-reason-cause-FOX-is-weird episode decided to *SPOILER?* skip 10 years into the future, where everyone can be imprinted into dolls...or something.  It reminds me of the last episode of Terminator, the Sarah Conner Chronicles, where they also time jumped into a dystopian future.  I'm not sure if this episode was cannon, or if next season they're just picking up where "Alpha" left off at the end of the 12th episode.  Regardless, everyone reading this should go out and watch Dollhouse, and make sure to get to the second half, where, like all Joss Whedon shows, it radpidly improves.

Oh, I also created a Twitter account because it was easier that signing up for some random poll/protest/petition thing.  My name on there is obmoloceoj, just like on here and everywhere else.

Frrom across the pond...
I'm thinking of picking up the first season of Secret Diary of a Call Girl. I've heard good stuff and I like Billie Piper. Anyone have any thoughts on the show?

Yay for the new admin...
I'm sure some of you have already heard about this, but here's the gay part of Obama's bit on civil rights from The Official Website.

Yay science

I'm a maverick!
Rule 1: don't follow the rules
Rule 2: NO RULES!
Rule 1: Actions, not words, unless "I'm a maverick!"

Thank you Colbert Report!

Also, I'm (finally) working on my thesis.  It turns out Trichostatin A (the compound I'm writing on) can do pretty much anything.  Expect more boring sciency stuff to follow, if I don't move to Canada.

Yes, I am still here
So, about 8 months ago, I received a letter in the mail telling me to update the address on my funds.  Much like my magic mystery pants, these seemed to appear out of nowhere.  (The real story is less exciting.)  When I got the letter in late February, the fund max was 17.85.  Over its life, the max was 23.35 back in October of last year.  After a long, painful process, I finally managed to transfer the fund into my name.  Since I knew about it, it maxed out at 1869 back in May, and has been falling since.  I sold it a few weeks ago, at 14.12.  It is currently at 11.34.  I'm glad I sold when I did.  This is not a fun market...

Now that that's gone, aside from my 401K, all my money is in my money market account.  Depending on how the market goes, I may play around with it a bit in a few months.  We shall see.

Nothing else to really report.  I'm really kind of sick of the election, though I've been watching all the debates.  Maybe what I'm sick of is just the republicans around me; that seems more likely.  I'll be happy when it's done.

I'm also thinking of having a Halloween party again this year.  So far, it seems like the Sunday before might be the best bet.  Thoughts from anyone?

New(ish) things I got for my birthday or something:

New computer (15" macbook pro, currently typing this)
New iPod (8 GB touch, currently in Spain)
New printer (Canon something-or-other, currently sitting in it's box by the front door)
New power drill (cause I'm just that butch, currently sitting in the garage, waiting for me to be motivated enough to put up some of the zillion projects I have waiting)
New DVDs (V for Vendetta and She-Ra, Princess of Power)
New CD (Kathy Griffin)
New lunch box (Fruity Oaty Bar!)
More alcohol
New Wii game (Raman Raving Rabbits)

I'm kind of in new stuff overload.

In other news, I also finished up my masters coursework.  After I finish my stupid thesis, I will be making everyone refer to me as The Master.  I will expect a laser screwdriver for a graduation present.

And I care because...?

Yes, Heath Ledger died.  I found out about it ASAP from friends.  Sure, death is bad and all, but why is it this big of a deal?  Seeing as it doesn't effect my life at all, why do we care?

Snitch Blurb
The cat learned how to open the gerbil cage.  The cage is not that easy to open.  Two metal clips have to be moved, then the whole top lifted off.  I have problems with it at time.  Remarkably, everyone ended up alive and, even stranger, where they're supposed to be.  I'm chalking this up to luck and going to bed.

Joe's long, weird, pointless song post
First off, music stuff.Collapse )

In other news, went to Art Fair today, spent a bunch of money, got some cool stuff and good food.  HP tomorrow, for which I am very excited.  B-day was good; thanks to all who came out.  Get my bonus tomorrow, parties tomorrow night and Saturday nigh, and probably other fun stuff in the future.  At this point, however, I need to get to bed.  Night all.

Still Alive...
I decided that I would really post more if LJ had some kind of download-from-brain function with it. Alas, it does not.

Life is good. Annoyed at some people and things, not so much at others. As I am one of my favorite people, I went out last night to get myself some early birthday presents, which were actually really really late graduation presents and ways to blow my work bonus. Um...I got a bonus at work. One of the gifts-for-whatever-reason was a new digital camera; if I ever decide to get a picture web page, expect to see some of those. The roommate is out of town for the week, so he gets to avoid most of the Joe-has-a-camera - duck-and-cover phase of this; you may not all be as lucky.

Speaking of my birthday (we were, trust me) it is next Friday. I'm going to Dominicks, to which you are all invited. It will be unlucky not to go.

No plans for the 4th, except (possibly) painting. If anyone wants to make some, let me know.

Other things to say, but no time. May be up later, but probably not.
